Who's calling this friday?

Going to the London Calling festival at the Paradiso in Amsterdam this weekend. The line-up is great.

Dirty Pretty Things
Ex-Libertine Carl Barats new band their debut album is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2006. The first single from the album, "Bang Bang, You're Dead", will be released on April 24, 2006. Meanwhile you can listen to You fucking love it released on NME's Best New Bands Showcase 2006 CD. You can also see a clip from a live performance of Deadwood on Myspace.

Bromheads Jacket
I guess it sounds like the streets are beating up the Arctic Monkeys but it’s better you listen to one of my favorite tracks of the moment What if + maybes . You can hear some more songs at Myspace. They have released a cover version of the streets song “when you wasn’t famous” can’t wait to hear it.

We start fires
Three girls and a guy from Darlington playing Electropunk. You can download a couple of songs at their website . ”The Killers if they took the poker from out of their backside and learnt to have a little fun’.

My Latest Novel
Scottish five-piece whose gorgeous songs are complemented by violins, xylophones and undulating percussion. At the M3 Blog they describe it as Belle & Sebastian meets Sufjan Stevens, read the article and download some songs here. You can also listen to songs on Myspace

Futureheads
Punk Poppers already played the Glastonbury Festival en scored a top ten hit ‘Hounds Of Love’ you can get the song at the M3 Blog. Or download the Futureheads live in Leeds from the Rbally Blog. Visit them at myspace to hear some more songs.

Young Knives
Started as a Ned’s atomic Dustbin cover band now playing proper Post Punk and I read blogs calling them the new Futureheads. Listen to their new single at the I guess I’m floating blog I especially love the song Elaine. Here’s another song you can download from the SxSW showcase called Weekend and Bleak days.
Check them out at Myspace.

The Tiny Dancers
According to Popmatters Tiny Dancers' sound is a glistening mix-up of country, Sheffield blues, Brian Jones-era Stones, and Beatlesque rock and roll. There's a little bit of Neil Young's creaking sadness coursing through their melodies, and a touch of Flaming Lips silliness when they play live. Listen to some songs on Myspace.

3voor12 made a collection of songs listen here

Dirty Pretty Things - Bloodthirsty Bastards (live at sxsw)
